Video and Teletherapy

What is Teletherapy?

Teletherapy (also known as telehealth, online therapy, or video therapy) is therapy that is delivered through live, video conferencing and makes professional counseling available anytime, anywhere. Research shows that Teletherapy can be just as effective as face-to-face counseling.

Who uses Teletherapy?

Telehealth is a great option for a variety of individuals and circumstances. We provide Teletherapy for adults and children who reside in Florida. Teletherapy is a great option for individuals:  who do not live within driving distance of our office location, who are unable to attend sessions due to travel or transportation issues, who are restricted from attending sessions due to sickness or health reasons, who are caring for young children, or are hesitant to come into the office for any reason.

How does Teletherapy work?

Teletherapy sessions are similar to traditional, face-to-face therapy sessions except the therapist and the client are not in the same room. Teletherapy sessions can done from the comfort of your own home or anywhere that suits your personal needs. Teletherapy sessions are comparable to FaceTime or Skype calls, but with added security precautions.

What technology is needed for Teletherapy?

Sessions can be completed using your phone, tablet, laptop, or computer. Teletherapy does not require the purchase of any special software. We use a video conferencing app that is available on most electronic devices.

Is Teletherapy Confidential?

Our video conferencing app is secure, confidential, and fully HIPAA compliant as your privacy is our priority. Our therapists are trained to provide Teletherapy and take extra precautions to ensure privacy on both ends of the video chat.
