Opportunities for Registered Interns

We’re seeking compassionate and highly skilled registered interns (Registered Clinical Social Worker Intern, Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern, or Registered Marriage and Family Intern) to join our mental health practice. The ideal candidate will have experience or is willing to work with individuals, couples, and families and will utilize a trauma-informed approach when treating a variety of mental health challenges.

Our office is a growing private practice based in Perry, Florida. We provide individualized outpatient therapy for adults, couples, adolescents, children, and families. We serve a diverse client base that faces a variety of mental health challenges. We are a well-established practice (10 years strong!) with an extensive waiting list; so, your case load will grow quickly.

Therapists with our practice typically see 6-8 clients per day with varied shift times dependent on clinic needs. We recognize the need for flexibility and offer morning, early afternoon, and late afternoon shifts. Based on client need and preference, we offer both face-to-face and Telehealth appointments. 

POSITION DESCRIPTION & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Contract position: consisting of 2-4 shifts per week, including at least 5-8 clients per shift (45-minute or 60 minute appointment slots).

  • Provide long-term, individual therapy to a wide range of clients with a variety of mental health concerns.

  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based counseling practices and interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

  • Basic knowledge of mental health disorders as recognized by The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition, Text Revision (DSM-5-TR).

  • Current intern license or ability to apply for license with relevant licensing board in Florida.

  • Master's degree in counseling, social work, or psychology.

  • High capacity for self-awareness, self-reflection, and willingness to engage in feedback processes through individual and group supervision.

  • Ability to work in a self-directed manner with strong organizational and time management skills, as our practice is a high paced environment.

  • Administration duties may include: writing progress notes, developing personalized treatment plans, providing documentation (in the form of written reports, letters, case reviews, and monthly updates) to outside sources, and coordinating with external resources and providers through case consultation.

  • Report to the Practice Owner and Directors, who are available for clinical debriefing, operational assistance, and crisis management support.

  • Engage in ongoing professional development and supervision support as needed, to address any clinical issues that may arise.
